Simply put, KORS replicates mission-critical data from NTAS and makes it available company wide. A simple task but with powerful advantages for data integrity, data availability, and client satisfaction.
The Koger Replication System satisfies the need to distribute data in real or near-real time,
with absolute accuracy, soundness, and completeness while keeping the cost of such efforts to a minimum.
The advantage of stocking multiple databases with up-to-date and identical information is obvious. But there
are two approaches. One disseminates data from a centralized location to remote offices. While sound in
principle and plausible in some situations, such a solution creates one point of potential failure with
global consequences. In addition, the costs for bandwidth and data-center support and maintenance makes
this solution prohibitive. Guaranteed procedures to ensure fault-tolerance can shoot costs through the roof.
Koger took a different approach to ubiquitous data, suggesting that a self-sustained meshed topology would not only suffice but keep costs low. Here each office runs mission-critical applications independently while all data from other offices replicates transparently, to and from different sites. Compared to the other approach, distributing data eliminates a single global point of failure, lowers hardware and support costs, and is not bandwidth sensitive.
Data distributed by KORS is uniquely identified by location ID so users can see from where it originated. By eliminating entry errors, data stays consistent and accurate.
